Transforming Schools

In 1858, Warm Springs Elementary School opened. Then in 1964, the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) merged with San Bernardino High School District (SBHSD). And today, SBCUSD has evolved into a thriving district with 73 schools that serve more than 50,000 leaders of tomorrow with facilities that range in age from one to 160 years, SBCUSD aims to make all of our facilities – from classrooms to libraries to athletic fields – ultra learning environments that are 21st century ready.

The design innovation of all school buildings impacts the wellness of our students and staff. That’s why we have a constant pipeline of projects in play from site renovation and modernization to aesthetic improvements, installation of safety infrastructure, sustainability measures, and beyond, the Facilities Department currently has many ongoing projects districtwide to ensure our students have the best experience possible at school every day.
